• Question: Can anything live for over a million years?

      We’ve not found anything that old, but theoretically it’s possible – there’s a species of jellyfish “Turritopsis nutricula”, known as “the immortal jellyfish”,
      which scientists reckon could live forever is it doesn’t seem to age. The oldest are only reckoned to be about 2-300 years old though, as they can still be killed.

      The oldest organisms are thought to be a species of sea-grass in the Mediterranean sea, which may be anything up to 200,000 years old (estimates vary).
