  Hi mrmcawesomeguy! Well, jetpacks actually already exist! There are a few different types that have been made, and they have been successful in getting people up in the air. But they aren’t terribly practical, and don’t last very long at this stage. So I don’t think we’ll all be flying around with them any time soon. The most useful jetpacks which have been made are the ones used by astronauts out in space.
  
  For self-growing food – it will be really interesting to see where 3D printing technology goes. They’re already talking about printing organs for medical use, so perhaps printing off your next dinner isn’t as far away as you imagine! Crazy! 🙂 And there you go, just did a web search, and NASA is already funding that research!
