      I should probably clear up what I said earlier – the ‘artificial leaves’ we make aren’t really that much like the leaves on a plant. We call them that because it makes it easier to understand how they work, as they work using the same basic principles as photosynthesis in a plant – they absorb sunlight and use the energy from that light to convert water into hydrogen (plant leaves absorb light and use it to convert water and carbon dioxide into sugar).
