      Good question! Most scientists agree now that it’s not just global warming that’s happening – there are other things like local cooling, weird rainfall patterns and other things like that – they generally refer to ‘climate change’ now.

      There is a lot of evidence from the last 20-30 years or so that climate change is getting worse – you’ve probably seen on the news all of the extreme weather that’s been going on around the world. The recent flooding in Europe and the crazy snow we had earlier in the year are examples.

      It’s widely accepted that the burning of fossil fuels and the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere is contributing to climate change. It’s still not 100% clear how much though – weather patterns on Earth have been pretty changeable throughout it’s history! One thing that is clear though is that we need to change our behaviour and reduce the amount of pollution we put into the environment whether or not we are responsible, as otherwise the world will likely be a pretty horrible place in 100 years or so.
