I like to do archery at the weekends – it’s a great challenge, it’s good fun when you’re outside in the sun with your friends and there’s always another goal to work towards- whether it’s a new technique, a better score, shoot a type of competition you’ve never shot before, I love it!
I also play a couple of instruments, I like my XBox, and try and spend time with family and friends wherever possible.
Let me see… I like reading, watching movies and anime (Japanese cartoons), I like video games a lot, and of course spending time with my friends and with my girlfriend :). Nothing too unusual, I guess. It changes depending on the period, really – I’ve been writing for a blog for a while, and sometimes I’ve tried to develop my own programs or games :D.
In my free time, I like to spend time with my friends and family!
I also like music a lot – I sing in a choir at my university and I play the flute (though I do not practice as often as I should!). Right now, I also like going out for lots of walks. I just moved to Glasgow a few months ago, so I am getting used to my new city and its surroundings. I also like cooking a lot maybe it reminds me of being in the lab? 🙂 So, I love to try out new recipes at home.
When I’m not in the lab, I like hanging out with my friends and family. Other than that, I like to get out and exercise to clear my mind after thinking all day! I normally play tennis, squash, or go swimming.
What don’t I do (thesis writing)…
I play football and badminton, go running, play instruments (mostly electric guitar) and write songs, do puzzles, play chess, read books, play computer games (just finished Witcher 2, eyeing up to Baldurs Gate remake at the moment), watch movies and TV series, travel, hangout with friends and family, cook (being making alot of onion-orientated stuff lately) and do science outreach events like this.
Reason: For the challenge and experience, life is boring if you just do the same things all the time.

how often do you have free time?

Not enough!
but enough to get all those things done.
