I love thinking about stuff like this, good question!

If we step BACK 50 years to the 1960’s, there were no computers at home, no internet, no mobile phones, not many televisions… Few of the things, in fact, that make up a lot of what life is like today!

I imagine that in 50 years time, there will be a similar amount of change technologically, although given how much amazing stuff has been dreamed up in science fiction over the years, I doubt a lot of it would be quite as incredible to someone born today as to someone born 50 years ago say. Computers will almost certainly be unimaginably fast by today’s standards – maybe we’ll have computers in our heads!

I reckon the biggest change will be in our understanding of biology – things like understanding how the brain works, how genes work, cloning, that sort of thing. We’re just starting to delve beyond the surface of a lot of these things and really get to grips with what’s going on at a pretty fundamental level within our bodies, I reckon a lot of what we think we know now will have been completely overturned!
