      The tonsils are part of the body’s immune system – they are like a first line of defense against any nasty things we might inhale, such as bacteria, viruses or other foreign bodies. Honestly, we don’t fully understand yet exactly what role they play, and it’s not entirely clear what changes when we remove them!
