We share research differently with other scientists compared to the general public :

For other scientists, there are ‘journals’ that are published regularly (weekly to monthly ususally) in which you can publish your research. These tend to be themed – there are journals for all the different branches of chemistry as well as biology, engineering, physics – anything you can study really! In addition we go to conferences where we can give talks, or put up posters with details of our research. These are great as you get to travel all over the world!

For sharing with the public, the most common way these days is via news reports on the internet, blogs and things like that. There are also events like I’m a Scientist that give us the opportunity to try and get school kids interested in science too!
