Never really thought about this one before (therefore good question)!

In terms of a weight, I’ve probably only used about 5-10 kilo’s over the course of my entire PhD (3.5 years), funnily enough about 1 stone (in weight). Most of my work is on very small amounts (about a tea spoon) because we have very good and sensitive equipment to work with, meaning we don’t waste much

Almost all of my work has involves zeolites (there is about 216 different ones)
http://izasc-mirror.la.asu.edu/fmi/xsl/IZA-SC/ft.xsl and I use the MFI one mostly.

All of these types of rock have been discovered by other scientists like me and there shapes, sizes and structures figured out and put in this database for anyone and everyone to access (if they want to).
